What Causes Knot On Mastoid Bone Behind Ear?
My son is 7 years old and has had repeat ear infections and infection in the mastoid bone, he has also had a dermoid cyst removed from the lymph node on the back of his head. He now has a knot on the mastoid bone behind the ear. He has not had an ear infection since he had tubes in his ear 3 years ago. What could this knot be?

Hi...by what you quote and if the knot is not bothering him I put forth 2 possibilities -
1. Lymphadenopathy
2. Dermoid cyst recurrence.
