when I am sitting still in class trying to pay attention I can be looking at the board and its just me and the teacher in there and its like it goes in one side of my head and out the other side is there anything that could be causing me not to be able to understand or comprehendwhat he is saying

Friend it is very common problem in maximum student.
Lack of concentration has uncountable causes, first create interest to learn what you read, create desire to know all about your topic.
Make goal for whole day. Start self evaluation what you learnt today.
Select your compititor and try to deafet him through your learning..
Ask your teacher to explain again with another method politely.
