Hi
Thanks for your query.
I appreciate your concern for your mom's health.
After having gone through the symptoms described in your query, I am of the opinion that your mom has some sort of a neurological problem called as Parkinson's disease.
It is a progressive disorder of the nervous system that affects the body movements due to loss of neurons that produce a chemical messenger
Dopamine in the brain. A decreased Dopamine level causes abnormal brain activity, leading to signs of Parkinson's disease.
Parkinson's signs and symptoms may include:
Shaking
tremor hand or fingers at rest
Slowed movement (bradykinesia). Steps may become shorter while walking dragging the feet
Muscle
stiffness which can limit range of motion.
Impaired posture and balance problems.
Loss of automatic movements decreased ability to perform unconscious movements, including blinking, smiling or swinging the arms and
Speech changes.
She needs to be examined by a
neurologist for not only to diagnose her condition but also to rule out other causes for the symptoms.
Following medications which restore the Dopamine level in the brain include: Carbidopa-levodopa or Other dopamine agonists like
Pramipexole of Anticholinergics like
Benztropine etc .
These drugs may markedly improve the signs and symptoms.
Hope the explanation given for your mom's condition could be useful for her in getting the early diagnosis and treatment.
A feed back is appreciated.
