What Causes Lack Of Height And Weight Growth In Children?

I was born in 1945 outside of York, Pennsylvania. This was a poor,rural area of PA. Between the ages of 8 and 11 I did not grow an inch in height or gain a lb. in weight. I know this from my school cards. I personally also remember this as I went from being one of the bigger kids in my class to the smallest kid. I really remember this because bigger kids tried to pick on me in junior high {now called middle school} . I didn t let them, but I developed a terrible temper during this time of my life. And I retained a lot of that temper all through life, I am sad to say. The School Report Cards were taken home every quarter [4 quarters per year and I still have mine from 1st-6th grade], and at the end of the year. We had plenty to eat; from the farm. I do remember eating a lot when I was a kid. My parents talked about me having a tape worm. What medical condition or other problem could have caused this lack of growth. I have wondered about this lack of growth for most of my life. My vitals were 4 02 , 50 lbs. I started growing again in 9th grade, but only reached the height of 5 07 , 142lbs at graduation of high school. I went on to college receiving a Bachlor of Science Degree in Forestry, an MS in Pulp & Paper Technology, Eight years later I earned my MBA. This last information I give only to show that my educational growth was not stunted like my weight and height were. Rl Burkheimer
