What Causes Lack Of Ovulation After Having Cortisone During Menstrual Cycle?

I had a cortisone shot on the second day of my menstrual cycle, I always ovulate on day 12. It is day 24, and I have not had a positive ovulation test and I have not had a temperature shift in the morning. I have been temping since I have been trying to conceive. I am very concerned that the single cortisone shot that I received in my back will cause me menstrual irregularities and lack of ovulation. Please advise, is cortisone shot the cause and when will my body go back to normal?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

Cortisone can cause this due to hormonal changes which it brings about in the reproductive system. Ovulation induction drugs may be required.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
