Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Heavy bleeding with passage of clots after a prolonged period of amenorrhea or absence of periods is common in perimenopausal period, and the pathology is known as dysfunctional uterine bleeding.
If you are having heavy bleeding, then you should go to the ER , as you may require tranexemic acid injection or therapeutic D and C to stop the bleeding, and prevent excessive blood loss.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
