What Causes Large Boil Oozing Pus Near Anal Area?

Hi Dr Matthew...I had a large boil like growth on my bottom which was present for about one year. Last year in September it burst and since then I have been having puss (sometimes a little blood) oozing from near my anus. I warm ferment it once a day and apply a gauze to it to absorb the leaking . On most days I have puss leaking, sometimes light in colour, sometimes a little brownish. It has been almost a year. i am taking ayurvedic pills as initial treatment with antibiotics did not help. I really don t have pain, or have got used to the discomfort. Wonder how long the puss flow will last

Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to anal abscess. An anal abscess is a painful condition in which a collection of pus develops near the anus. Most anal abscesses are a result of infection from small anal glands. The most common type of abscess is a perianal abscess.

You should use an anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen to relieve the pain. I also suggest to use a cycle of antibiotics You should also consult a proctologist to drain the pus.
