Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Large Itchy Welts On Body Inspite Of Using Benadryl And Hydrocortisone Cream?
I have large welts all over my body. They are very itchy. They ve started appearing on my friend also. I have tried calimine lotion, hydrocortisone cream, Benadryl and a medication given to me by a friend that is prescribed for scabies. I have no idea what it is.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have large itchy welts in spite of using medication which seems to be due contact dermatitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit dermatologist once for proper examination. Doctor may order certain tests and may prescribe oral or topical antibiotics and anti inflammatory medications accordingly. You should avoid sun exposure and avoid itching and pricking rashes. Apply coconut oil to avoid itching. Wear loose cotton clothes and avoid synthetic clothes. Drink plenty of water.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
