What Causes Large Lump In Type 1 Under Skin Towards Shoulder Of Right Arm?

My 12-year old Type 1 daughter has had a large under skin lump towards the shoulder of her right arm. Mild pain when she touches it. She recalls a second or third shot in the area caused the lump. Concerns? Any telltale signs of concern with the size or shape of the lump, or skin complexion? Thanks, Eric.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
She might have developed carbuncle.
These are deep bacterial infections.
Diabetics are prone to develop these.
Do some hot fomentation.
This will help in collection of pus,
Treatment is with antibiotics but the choice of antibiotics should be based on culture and sensitivity tests.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
Let me know if you have any other doubt.
