What Causes Large Painful Bump Near The Rectal Area?

HI, I am a 59 year old very active female. I have a large SORE lump next to my rectum, near my pantie line, near my taint. It s about the size of a 50 cent piece, is red around the lump and has no head, and is extremely painful. I have been sitting in a hot bath for the past 3 nights, but it s getting bigger. HELP!

Hello,

You might be getting an abscess and in this case hot baths might help with the pain for short times but to treat it you will need to surgically open the lump and drain it.
Your doctor will give you pain medications as well that will ease the pain and make the procedure easier to you as well and might also consider giving you antibiotics after he drains the abscess. He might also put a drain to prevent closure of the area and recurrence of the abscess.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
