What Causes Large Red Spots On The Scalp After Beached The Hair?
Hi I recently bleached my hair and I did it myself, it burned so so bad when I had it on but I had done it previously and it had never been that bad but I decided to continue the process and now, I have large fleshy red spots all over my scalp. I applied neosporin over them but it hasn t healed and it is now oozing white pus all over. Do I need to go to the doctor? Is it a sign of infection?
The large red spots with pain, pus discharge indicate severe scalp infection and needs immediate medical attention. Till that time, an antiseptic cleaning would help before application of neosporin ointment. Prescription of necessary antibiotics as amoxicillin, clavulanic acid, cephalosporin or others as per the culture sensitivity report of the pus discharge.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
