What Causes Leaking Veins In Wrist?

I have a vein in my wrist that is leaking when I carry things, like books, groceries, my briefcase. I am 53 year old female, high school teacher, 5'7", 230lbs. I take Cymbalta for fibromyalgia, Adderall for Narcolepsy, Nexium for Acid Reflux, Fexofenadine for idiopathic urticaria and 80mg of aspirin. I recently stopped taking Premarin. The vein in my left wrist has been leaking on and off for the past 5 months. The is no pain associated with it. I go for a week or so with no incident and then, all of a sudden I see reddish/purple dots appearing at the base of the thumb. The spots merge forming eraser size, then dime size bruises. It this cause concern or is this a natural part of aging?

It could be due to the anti-platelet action of the Aspirin you take. You have not mentioned why you take Aspirin. I would advice you to get a PT/ aPTT/ INR test done as well as Liver function tests to know your coagulation profile and would advise you to stop Aspirin for two weeks and then see whether the symptoms decrease or not. But, before that I need to know why you are taking Aspirin. If it is for a Heart problem then consult your Cardiologist before stopping. Take care and do let me know the test results.
