What Causes Left Abdominal Pain And Constipation Post Bowel Resection?
I am a 58 yr old female who has had a bowel resection in March 2016. Last night and all day today Iv e had pain in my front lower left side. I am on Humira for 6 weeks now and combi patch for hormones. On Monday I came off of prednisone on a taper for the last 2 months. When I put a heating pad on myself I feel somewhat better. I had 3 bowel movements yesterday but none today. I am wondering if this is related to my Crohn s disease, muscle related, or possible ovary strain. I only have 1 ovary and it s on my left side. I have had my terminal illeum removed with a bowel resect in March 2016. Got any clues?
The body physiology never gets normal post resection of an organ and some amount of strain and pain will always remain. However if the character or intensity of pain is changing or it is sudden, then it points towards infection or flare of Crohn's disease. Ovarian or muscle strain is a remote possibility.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
