What Causes Left Leg Numbness And Weakness After Treating Sciatica Pain?
Please can you help, is it normal to still have numbness and weakness in my left leg after 3 month, after siactica pain has gone. Still can t go up and down stairs on my own, as my leg gave way on the stairs and I fell half way down. Please could you tell me if this is normal. Thanks
Sciatica is due to compression of nerve roots in between two vertebrae. In initial stages there may be pain along the nerve that is from lower back radiating to posterior aspect of thigh and calf muscle, along with stiffness.
In more severe nerve compression there may be weakness of muscles supplied by compressed nerve this may be present with or without pain.
So you should consult orthopedician or spine surgeon. There is need for - 1) Clinical Examination. 2) MRI of limbo sacral spine.
Depending on it further treatment can be planned.
Hope this helps you, if so do vote.
