I had a rib block together with a colonoscopy and my lung was accidentally pierced during the procedure. After coming out of the anaesthetic I had a terrible pain in my left ear and still have it 18 months later. Could it be that the vagus nerve could have been damaged? My left eye is tired and sometime droops slightly. I also have a rather large growth on the left hand side of my thyroid which doctor wants to remove. Terrible pain on LHS of head and eyesight feels blurred in left eye.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of rib block, colonoscopy, accidental puncture of lung, development of severe pain in the left ear which has continued for 18 months and have the pain on the left side of the face, and so on. All these points suggest that you are suffering from Left trigeminal neuralgia and not related to what happened about 18 months back. I would advise you the following: MRI of the brain, facial nerve, trigeminal nerve. Consultation with an ENT and a Neurologist to have a clinical evaluation and examination and further tests and appropriate treatment,.
