What Causes Left Sided Abdominal Pain Post Hemicolectomy Surgery?
I am 63 years old. Before 25 years I had undergone a hemicoloctomy surgery at Medical trust due to tumor in the transverse colon and further reviews were normal. No I have pain and discomfort inside my left upper abdomen area inside the lower left ribs and an US scan was done recently and prostrate enlargement is indicated. I am a diabetic patient and taking insulin 24 units of mixard daily. could u please suggest any possibility for the present pain and discomfort
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Your present symptoms may not be related to your past history of hemicolectomy. Many medical conditions may give you such symptom.Possible causes may include: -Respiratory infections like pneumonia or other respiratory pathologies -Digestive disorders -Heart problems like a heart attack/ischemic heart diseases.... Since a recent abdominal ultrasound showed only prostate enlargement, most digestive organic causes may be eliminated. I will suggest you see the Doctor for investigations.Test that may help identify cause of your problem may include: chest x-ray and an ECG.From the results, treatment options may be discussed. Hope this will help Best regards
