What Causes Left Sided Abdominal Pain Under Rib Cage?
Hi, I have been having left side abdominal pain under rib cage. Also have been having a very tender to touch feeling like i have a rash, but no rash just sensitive to touch. Had two ER visits two days apart. Found lipase to be higher than normal.Did an ultra sound of my organs in belly area and found nothing. No stones etc. Also the second visit to ER had severe back spasms with it. Found nothing. Was sent to see a gastro. He did repeat blood work and my lipase was now normal.(was 1120). They thought I had pancreatitis. Gastro doc. wants to do an endoscopy. Pain is coming back again. When I have this attack usually starts out mild and can get to a 10 in no time at all. Also no other symptoms like nausea or anything. Any suggestions on what to do next?
Diverticulitis is one of the most common causes. In many cases, persistent pain specific to the lower left side of the abdomen is caused by diverticulitis.
Diverticula are small pouches created from pressure on weak spots in the colon. When pouch tears, swelling, and infection can cause diverticulitis.
