What Causes Left Sided Chest Pain And Rapid Heart Rate?

I am 32 year old female with a history of high blood pressure. I workout 3-4 times a week and now have a normal bp. Today while eating lunch a sudden very sharp pain started in my left breast area and spread a little towards the back. Lasted for about a min. Since then I have been having some thumping of my heart. I am due to start my period in two days. Should I be worried?

Hello,

History of hypertension and chest pain need to be ruled out for coronary artery disease, your symptom is suggestive of this and it is advisable to get done the EKG without this it is difficult to know the underlying cause of chest pain, it can be due to anxiety and stress but it can not be taken as granted.

Hope I have answered your query.
