I have severe chest pain on left chest/heart/rib cage area since dwallowing a tylenol 3 tablet yesterday afternoon for persistent lower back pain suffered for past 4 days. I cannot sleep. Do you know if I m having a heart attack? I am heart patient diagnosed 2012 with atrial fibrillation.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I carefully read your question and understand your concern.
Chest pain might be due to different causes like muscle pain being the most common and less serious one. Heart can be a cause also and is more serious so if you have had heart problems before and are having chest pain it is always safer to have a visit with a cardiologist and have some tests like ECG, heart Ultrasound and very likely the specialist will ask for stress test also. If these tests come out normal than other causes like muscle, bone pain or acid reflux or anxiety can be considered.
Hope this is helpful and answers to your question
