Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Left Sided Facial Numbness And Tingling Sensation With Stiff Neck?
I ve had a stiff neck for 3 weeks going to Chricaptor but doesn t seem to be getting better. About a week now i starting feeling tinkling feeling on the neck, and going up my head, and then turning numb on my cheek and ear, it happens contiinous about every half hour. It s on my right side.
It usually gets better within a few weeks but it can't be predicted. In some patients, sensory problems may continue for months (and even years).
In other patients, they may wear off after 2-3 weeks. If you have significant pain you can use analgesics (like Paracetamol with a low-dose opioid) and drugs for neuropathic pain (like pregabalin or gabapentin).
If you don't have pain then you can't do much. Vitamin B12 is supposed to help with nerve recovery but there are no adequately documented benefits.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
