What Causes Left-sided Facial Pain After A Crown Placed On Left Upper Molar?
I had a crown put on my upper molar on left side about three months ago. I am having pain on the left side of my face, near sinuses. When I press on my palate towards that tooth it feels like a lot of pressure and there is a lump on the outside on gum that is painful. When I bite down that tooth is sensitive. I've had two X-rays and dr said it doesn't look like I need a root canal and bump is not showing up as anything. He keeps telling me to just watch it but it keeps hurting...
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms pain and pressure over tooth and pain on biting along with bump over the gums is a clear cut indication of Dental infection causing Dental Abscess..
You need to consult an ENDODONTIST and get evaluated and he can take an x ray again and evaluate you thoroughly.. In case of infection removal of the crown under local anaesthesia followed by Root Canal Treatment of tooth has to be done. The treatment will be followed by antibiotics and painkillers..
After the treatment is complete and you become completely painless then crown will be placed after 15 days..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
