Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
On my left side about where the lower rib is, it hurts to touch. About a 3-4 pain level. Mammo clear. No indigestion ever. Has been getting more noticeable the past couple weeks. Can lightly throb. Can extend slightly into the left side back region. Have gone over the body chart to look at what organs are in that region... I m stumped. What to do, what might it be?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Actually, that is the area where the spleen is situated. I would suggest to check serum calcium & vitamin D levels for such pain can occur in osteoporosis. Please consult a physician for specific assessment & replacement of the elements as per need. A uah scan can give primary information of splenic inflammation, to be treated after able guidance of a gastroenteritis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
