What Causes Left-sided Pain Below The Navel Above The Pelvic Bone?

A couple of things, I m not sure they are related. I have a pain that has come and gone for a month or so now. it is below my belly button to the left just above the pelvic bone. Sharp pain that stabs occasionally. Also, for a little over a month now, whenever I eat, within 20 minutes I have to literally Run to the restroom with water diarrhea.
