Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Left Sided Pain From Shoulder To The Arm Post Gall Bladder Removal Surgery?
I recently had my gallbladder removed due to chest pain (6weeks) ago. Those symptoms have improved however now I am experiencing different chest pains. They are on the left side and thru my shoulder and down my arm. I had a stress test 2 months ago and it was fine. What may be causing these new symptoms?
I want to know your - Age & Gender. - Presence of diabetes, blood pressure or cholesterol problem. - Family history of heart disease. - Habits like smoking.
There might be following possibilities for your shoulder pain radiating to arm- 1) Heart disease: It may be a symptom of heart attack. Though 2 month ago your Stress test is normal better to do ECG, Cardiac enzymes (Trop T/I, CPK-MB) to rule out heart disease. 2) Radiculopathy: It may be due to cervical spine problem causing compression of nerve root.
It is better to consult your doctor for clinical examination and evaluation.
Hope this helps you.
