What Causes Left Sided Pain From Shoulder To The Arm Post Gall Bladder Removal Surgery?

I recently had my gallbladder removed due to chest pain (6weeks) ago. Those symptoms have improved however now I am experiencing different chest pains. They are on the left side and thru my shoulder and down my arm. I had a stress test 2 months ago and it was fine. What may be causing these new symptoms?

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

I want to know your
- Age & Gender.
- Presence of diabetes, blood pressure or cholesterol problem.
- Family history of heart disease.
- Habits like smoking.

I don't think there is any relation between gall bladder surgery and your pain.

There might be following possibilities for your shoulder pain radiating to arm-
1) Heart disease: It may be a symptom of heart attack.
Though 2 month ago your Stress test is normal better to do ECG, Cardiac enzymes (Trop T/I, CPK-MB) to rule out heart disease.
2) Radiculopathy: It may be due to cervical spine problem causing compression of nerve root.

It is better to consult your doctor for clinical examination and evaluation.

Hope this helps you.
