What Causes Left-sided Pain In The Rib Cage For A 42-year-old Male?
My husband is 42 years old and is up complaining of extreme pain in his upper left side near rib cage. What can cause this? Should I be alarmed? He is saying that he thinks he slept wrong but has also been up now for 30 minutes. He is able to stand and sit comfortably but not lay down.

He is having only pain,No difficulty in breathing? Pain present over chest or Upper abdomen near lower ribs? Right renal calculi may produce this type pain ,will be aggravated while lay down. Do US abdomen and X ray Chest PA view.
