What Causes Left-sided Pain In Throat?

I ve had pain on the left side of my throat for almost 3 weeks. No fever or white spots as associated with strep. No cold or viral symptoms. I do not smoke. Pain is minor, there is a reddened area between my left tonsil and the oropharynx. What is the differential diagnoses between cancer or other possible etiology?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, such symptoms could be allergic one, this may not be malignancy, for the malignancy there should be some similar lesion, which could be very typical in appearance and once it is being suspected clinically it immediately brought to investigation, apart from the malignancy, it could be viral infection, bacterial infection, may be hyperacidity, lymph node due to systemic infection, and others, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
