What Causes Left-sided Throat Swelling And Pain Radiating To Left Ear?

Hi, my left side of the throat is hurting pretty badly and it seems like it s a bit swollen. the pain radiates to my left ear, it s been like that for a few days now. i also have general body aches on the left side mostly (almost like a flu), but other than that I seem ok (as far as I know - no fever and the right side of my throat is good). do you think this could be an infection or something different?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Possibility of a tonsillitis must be ruled out. The inflammation in the throat can cause radiating pain to the ear.

Consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated. Antibiotics may be required in case or infection. As of now you can do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
