What Causes Left-sided Throbbing Sharp Pain In Back And Neck Area?
I have throbbing sharp pain in left side of back of head and top of the back..in my neck area..heat does not help and also nausea..I have taken Aleve for couple days...seems to hurt more when I sit up or stand ...what is in that area of neck and top of back/shoulder at neck area..
I share your concerns. In my opinion you have muscle strains. Muscles get strained if you over exert, lift heavy weight, exercise without warm up or a faulty sleep posture.
Another probability is trapped nerve at cervical vertebrae levels. Nerve can get trapped if there is spondylitis, jerk in neck, faulty posture.
However in both cases you would require painkillers, heat therapy, physiotherapy and some rest . Try this for at least three days for relief. Get a xray of neck to know about the vertebrae at cervical levels. If there is spondylitis or any other defect, you may require a cervical collar.
I hope my reply will help you. Please write to me or hcm for more queries. I wish you good health and rapid recovery. Kindly rate this reply. Thanks
