Hi, my name Is Angel Leigh Starks and I have this problem with sleeping. Every year my sleeping patterns change starting at about age 7 of what I can remember. I always have leg problems My leg always keeps me up. when I was little I would get about the most of two or three good hours of sleep everry night. the weird part is no one really noticed because I had so much energy I was not tired I am always on the move. well the doctors put me on sleeping meds. I slept fine with them I still have leg problems my legs seem to ach. well I am 19 now and I am taking Seriquel for sleeping and that does not help. I am sleeping but the weird part is I am not tired at night, I am tired during the day. I do not have much energy. when i sleep during the day which to be honest I dont sleep longer than an hour but when I wake up I feel like I slept a full 8 hours. when I am naping during the day it is not as if I am even naping its strang but when I fall a sleep I think I am actually up I get this feeling like I can not move and my legs get numb and my eyes feel like they are open i am panicing and breathing heavy I can hear it. my mind is racing. when I sleep at night my legs start to ach and feel restless and i tend to jump. my legs do that alot of times. I know its weird but this has been going on for ever but it is like it is getting worse.
It doesn't seem like the possibility of what's known as Restless Legs Syndrome has been considered. At least you don't mention anything about that as a possible diagnosis nor are you on any specific medication for the condition other than Seroquel which is not for that issue. If your doctors have not done a workup in either blood or performed a sleep study to assess the amount of Periodic Limb Movement you have which could be an indicator of sorts to the diagnosis of RLS then, I recommend you get this done.
If you'd like to consult with me on a private basis please write your question to me and I will promptly write back and give you more information that should help when you speak to your physicians about what's going on.
