What Causes Leg Clots With Vein Prominence, Groin Area Plaque, Feet Cyanosis?

I recently had a blood clot in my left leg behind the knee in a vein, I am now on blood thinners. I had a ultra sound done about a month ago and said I have plaque build up in the left groin area. When I sit down for more than 15 minutes my feet turn purple. I am also having issues with wearing underwear for it cuts off circulation. Should I be worried?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, Plaques are formed in arteries and not veins. If you have had venous thrombosis and you are on anti coagulants it will help your arterial flow also. If you have pain in the limb on walking then you should consult a Vascular Surgeon who can advice you whether Angioplasty/ Surgery is required. You might require a CT Angiography to see exactly see the state of your arteries which might lead to purple feet. Also, they will advice you to screen your heart with a 2D- Echo to rule out any cause of thrombus in the heart.
Take care and please undergo the above investigations to have proper treatment. You could ask any further Vascular queries by leaving a Direct query for me on this Website.
