I m 75 and have leg cramps at night after I go to bed. the cramps are after mowing the yard with a push mower and especially when doing a lot of squatting picking mushrooms or beans. My heart is sound after the PFO was plugged. No clogged arteries, etc. Thanks, Ron

General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Leg cramps during the night may be caused due to factors like dehydration, electrolyte imbalances (e.g., low levels of calcium, magnesium, or potassium), poor circulation, overuse of the muscles, tight muscles, nerve or muscle damage, certain medications and medical conditions such as diabetes or thyroid problems. It's best to speak with a doctor for a proper diagnosis and determine the best treatment for your specific case.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
