My wife suffers from leg cramps, usually during the night. She has lost 2 or more hours of sleep in the last 3 nights. This is not the first episode. This problem occurs randomly, but sometimes it may occur over 2 or more nights in succession. My wife has diabetes, which she monitors daily, and a thyroid condition. I m sorry I can t be more specific. I help her treat the cramps by applying warm towels. It helps, but the cramps keep coming back. She has mentioned these cramps on several doctor visits, but my wife feels her doctor is not treating her for this condition, and my not be taking it seriously. My wife is 59 years old, works as a hairstylist, and is on her feet, several hours a day. She owns her own salon, which she will be selling soon. This means she will be semi-retired and won t need to stand for long periods. What are the chances that her condition will get better (less sleepless nights due to cramps) when she spends 30 to 50% less time on her feet?
