Every winter I occasionally suffer from night or early morning leg cramps, always in my right leg. I am currently receiving physical therapy for severe hip (right) pain which is improving after only 8 sessions. Problem is, the leg cramps are back with a vengance! The cramps are occuring on or about 8A.M. and can only be described as excruciating and now include the left leg. Is it possible that i am experiencing an excess of calcium? I consume a gallon of milk per week, in addition to all the calcium i take in my diet and supplements. Please help me understand this situation. I am 81 years old, not overweight, nor suffering from heart disease, diabetes or any other chronic condition. I did undergo surgery 2 years ago, for lung cancer and I did not require chemo nor radiation! The tumor was encapsulated and there is no reason to believe that it has metastasized. Please help me understand what is going on. Your input will be greatly appreciated.
