welcome to hcm,
leg cramps along with burning of feet for a patient taking tab. hctz has to be evaluated . the most common cause for such symptoms include hypokalemia or low potassium levels.
i want her to take serum electrolytes and treat accordingly. the most common reason for burning feet in the elderly is due to neuropathy. she may need vitamin supplements with good fruit intake. she may need some exercises to prevent burning feet. she can move her fingers of the feet while immersing feet in hot water (tolerable heat)
hope this explains
with regards
Dr.Amarnath
