What Causes Leg Pain Post Intake Of Doxycycline?

HI, I am currently on doxycycline mono for a possible urinary infection. I have been on lisinpril,simvastatin and primidone for a few years.I am 67 years old and work out on a regular basis. Since I started taking doxy mono, I have had leg pains that have got worse and now feel like I am having hamstring issues. Could the new medicine or a combo of all medications be the cause? I never have leg problems so something is going on. Thanks, T

Hello,

Usually, less likely it may cause leg or muscle pains. May taking with statins may lead to aggravation of leg pain.

Don't worry if the pain is bearable means you may complete the course or take tablet paracetamol and tramadol twice a day for five days.

If no improvement checks for other possibilities like anemia, anxiety or restless leg syndrome.

Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
