What Causes Leg Spasms Post A Discectomy?

l ve had 2 cervical spine surgeries, most recent a discetomy at C2 - C7 in 11/15.. I have a right hip with serious pain and arthritis (hip replacement surgery scheduled 3/19/18). I m currently experiencing severe leg spasms with my legs being pressed together every night. It s kept me awake for almost a week. What is the cause and treatment for these spasms???.

Your spasms may be due to spinal cord changes caused by either preoperative compression or intraop injury. To rule out the cause you need to undergo an MRI cervical spine.Further management depends on your MRI findings.
