What Causes Lesions On The Back, Abdomen And Chest?

I have skin bumps/lesions on my back, abdomen below breasts, chest and both breasts, one upper arm, one thigh, and one shoulder. I get new ones every day, and some go away. I have seen two doctors for two different diagnosis. The first said shingles (a typical), so I started an antiviral one week ago. When the bumps left the dermatone and migrated bilaterally, I went back. The diagnosis was bed bugs. The prescription steriod cream did nothing to alleviate pain on eruption and subsequent itching. Have had a pest control inspector here and there are no bed bugs or fleas, or signs of any kind of infestation. Yesterday my husband presented with six lesions on his back. Help!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I agree with your first doctor about shingles. This is also based on the fact that steroids were not effective in relieving the symptoms. I suggest continuing using Acyclovir tablets three times a day. I also recommend using a Acyclovir cream for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

General Surgeon Dr. Nataraj Naidu R's  Response
Hi,

You need to meet the dermatologist who will examine the areas under a magnifying glass and get the lesion excised and send for histopathological examinations; which give the best result for the management of the lesion.

Kindly meet a dermatologist rather than trying all the agents available.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nataraj Naidu R, General Surgeon
