What Causes Light Brown Vaginal Spotting While HPT Is Positive?
Hi. Last month I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend and noticed my period was two weeks late. I was nervous so I took two tests and we re both positive, but the next day, I had my period. But this period was abnormal and I never have abnormal periods ever. I m usually heavy until the 4th day and this time I barely was. I had some brown spotting and just a little bit of blood the first two days. Could I be pregnant or even miscarried? Help!!
Hi Thanks for posting your query on HCM. I appreciate your concern for the brown spotting with positive HPT.
It is suggestive of implantation bleeding and hence pregnancy.
It is the bleeding that occurs 10 to 14 days after conception — is normal and relatively common and it occurs when the fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus generally lasts for a short time and is usually much lighter than menstrual bleeding.
It stops on its own and doesn't require treatment. If the bleeding persists or you're concerned about any vaginal bleeding during pregnancy you are advised to visit your gynec doctor.
Hope your query is being answered. Give your valuable feed back.
