Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the last couple of days I have noticed some discharge when I wipe myself. When I first spotted it, it was a very light red (almost pink) .. Since then it s gone from a very thick brown discharge to a very light brown discharge.. It only comes off when I wipe myself. I ve been to the doctor and they ve done some tests as well as a pregnancy test and it came up negative. The discharge continues and I have a slight uncomfortable feeling in my womb. Not sure if this is paranoia.. I am taking the pill and still have 6 days left of it.. What could this be?
Brownish vaginal discharge can occur before or after the periods.Brown discharge is vaginal mucus saturated in old blood, as such, it is usually a darker brown colour.
As long as your discharge is not carrying a strong, bad odour, you most likely have nothing to worry about. Incase of smelly discharge, vaginal infections or pelvic inflammatory disease should be ruled out.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
