Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Light Colored, Slightly Raised Spots On Chest With Frequent Tanning Of Skin?
Within the last month, I have developed small light colored spots the size of freckles, mostly concentrated on my center line between the bottom of my sternum and the top of my navel. There is absolutely no pain, irritation, itching sensation or discoloration (other than being lighter than the surrounding skin). I have had skin tags in the past, but these are only slightly raised above the surrounding skin. It looks as if acid splattered on my mid section and dis colored the skin. I started tanning in a tanning bed very frequently over the last 2 months, and I m considered light complected. Thoughts?
The red eruptions over chest and surrounding areas of navel indicate possible side effect of tanning with ultraviolet rays most likely. You should stop the tanning procedure till the spots disappear completely and then restart after consulting your primary care provider only.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
