Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just looked up some symptoms that say it could be retinal detachment, I had eye surgery about 10 years ago that was to repair damage from a nail inpaling my cornea and my pupil was trying to plug the crack. Would this be what is causing me to see light streaks when I move my eye from side to side even when my eyelid is closed?

Hello, Flashes of light in front of eyes are usually caused by retinal detachment. A previous retinal surgery can be the predisposing factor.
