What Causes Light Period After Taking Noresthistherone To Induce Periods?
I had to take the emergency contraception pill on day 17 of my cycle because the condom broke. However my period didn t come and I have an average 30 day cycle. I took 2 pregnancy tests and both were negative. On day 38, I went to my gp who confirmed that i m not pregnant and gave me a 5 day course of noresthistherone and told me my period should come 3 days later. My period came 4 days later. Usually its heavy on day 1 and 2 accompanied by back ad leg pain. However this time the pain lasted a short while and my period is unusually light, not at all what s normal for me. Is this normal when taking noresthistherone to induce periods?
Hi, I think it can happen after taking norethisterone to have light periods because it is a withdrawal bleeding. It is not your normal periods. So, don't worry about it. It can be due to thin endometrial also. If periods remain irregular, you can do a thyroid profile and prolactin level and a ultrasound done to see uterus and ovaries. Hope it helps.
