What Causes Light Periods After Taking I-pill Followed By Sex?
Hi Doctor, My name is Roseline, I am 26years old. I had got my periods on 5th July which lasted for 7 days. Post my periods were over I had intercourse with my husband . Nxt day within 72 hours i had taken an Ipill for safety and o avod pregnancy. But today that is 21st July again I got periods. The flow as of now is less. Just wanted to know whether its normal and will it take again 7 days and agin will I get my periods on 5th August. Request you to let me know urgently
1.2 days prior to periods and 2-3 days after periods are over are considered as safe period and having intercourse during this interval is extremely safe and there is no need to worry or panic and since you have taken i-pill within 72 hours thus chances of pregnancy is nill.
2. The bleeding you are referring to could be implantation bleeding [since withdrawal bleeding occur sooner] and most likely it could be your normal period since i-pill can prepone or postpone your period by a week and can also reduce the amount/quantity of menstrual flow. PS. taking an emergency pill is always associated with menstrual irregularities, so practice safe sex and other reliable methods of birth control
