What Causes Light Periods And Spotting?

I am 24 year old female with a history of ovarian cysts and abnormal periods. Last month my period started on April 20 and ended April 25. This month I had started bleeding may 16th in the morning started out a medium flow and to a light flow by the 17th. Yesterday I had pink spotting and today only had gotten a drop when having a bowel movement. Tmi, I know. Anything I should be concerned about? I have a fiance to which we do not use any contraceptives and use the pull out method.

Hello,

Your symptoms do not seem to be related to any pregnancy. Anyway, there is not too much guaranty about your hormonal imbalance. If you do not wish to have a pregnancy, it would be better to have protected sexual relationship.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
