What Causes Light Periods Lasting For 12-15 Days After IUD Insertion?
I have had heavy periods all my life ( I am 33). they were heave, and last 7-8 days. But I thought that was usual. I had a IUD inserted in March. Since then my periods have been a lot lighter BUT last 12-15 days. I went back to my OB-GYM last Tuesday and she did a examination and since them my lower abdominal has been achy more so today then the other... what is going on???
I think that a ultrasound examination of lower abdomen will be required to ascertain if the IUCD is at correct position or not. Start a course of tranaxemic acid for 5 days, antispasmodic Drotaverine for 5 days. If bleeding persists, start Norethisterone tablets 5 mg for 5 days.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
