Hello,
You are having light spotting instead of regular periods. You have not mentioned if you are on any
contraceptive method / device or planning for a baby. If you are planning for a baby, you are suggested to get urine or
blood test for
pregnancy done. If you are doing the test with urine, the sample you take should be the first mid-stream morning urine for the best result. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist to detect bulky uterus and to confirm pregnancy by getting USG (fetus and
fallopian tube) done.
In case your pregnancy reports are negative, you can wait for some more time and get repeat urine test done. Other medical factors that can cause spotting are poor general health condition, anemia, sudden excessive loss or gain of weight, hormonal imbalance, use of CP's or Implanon, stress - exhaustion, PCOS,
thyroid dysfunction, etc. You are suggested to get a complete medical check up done so that pathology is detected and treatment started at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
