What Causes Light Vaginal Spotting While On Plavix?

yes I am on Plavix or a year, I had 3 stents put in my heart a year a go. I also take a baby aspirin aday. I have noticed some vaginal spotting from time to time, is this something to worry about? I went thru the change of life when I was 50 years old, I am now 77. I also scheduled to have surgery on Monday am.{5 days away} on my hands,carpal tunnel and my elbow with acrucial nerve release. IS THIS ANY THING TO TELL A DR BEFORE SURGERY?I I am stopping Plavix 5days before surgery. help!!! Caryl

Hello,

The spotting can be due to plavix but also due to vaginal atrophy which I think are the most likely causes.
Still, it is best to rule out other gynecological causes of the spotting, so I would advise you to talk with your doctor and have a gynecological examination and probably a transvaginal ultrasound.
You will need to let your doctor know that you are having the vaginal spotting while you are on plavix as well.
