What Causes Lighter Periods And Itching And Swelling In Labia Minora?

My period ended a few days ago. Although it was on time, it was lighter than usual and had a slightly darker color. I had itchiness and irritation, but thought nothing of it. However, this morning I noticed my labia minora is very swollen and red. What's going on?
