What Causes Lightheadedness, Nausea And Excessive Thirst With High Blood Sugar Levels?
I have been feeling very light headed as well as nauseous. I am always very thirsty but have been for a long time. Several of my family members are diabetic and I tested my blood sugar at 3 am and found it was 217. I know this alone is not enough to diagnose diabetes but should I be concerned? Yes I am over weight and because of hip and knee injury get little exercise. What do you recommend?

short answer : all your symptoms are related to diabetes check your fasting (in the morning)postprandial (2 hours after food) blood sugar levels and a HBA1c test. detailed answer: excessive thirst nausea light headedness and excessive urination are symptoms of hyperglycemia or high blood sugar. as your random blood sugar value is also 217 you are most probably suffering from diabetes and i advice you to avoid sweet rich food fat less milk space between each meal avoid oily food have small exercise even in bed if you confirm that you have diabetes have diabetic medications as per your treating physicians advice. hope this explains
