Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
So after wiping in a fast or rough manner with low quality single-ply toilet, I occasionally find some blood on the toilet paper. Could this be caused by how rough the toilet paper is or how hard I wipe? Or is this something more serious? Also what should I do after these situations? Shower? Apply neosporin?
Hello, It is possible that you have some mild hemorrhoids that get irritated with the rough toilet paper. Make sure that you keep your stools soft by eating plenty of fiber and drinking lots of water. If you are over 50 years old you may want to see your doctor and get a screening colonoscopy to screen for colon cancer. It is most likely hemorrhoids and nothing more serious. Regards, Dr. Robinson
